The GSSA Vice Presidents of Residents and Trainees are working to launch a database of global surgery-related training opportunities available at residency programs throughout the United States. Currently, this database contains the results of a survey sent to the Association of Program Directors in Surgery (APDS) regarding opportunities available at general surgery residency programs. We also have included the program from the Program Directors Fair that we helped to host in collaboration with ACS Operation Giving Back, InciSioN, and AAGS.

 

We hope to expand the database to surgical subspecialties, as well as OB/GYN and anesthesia, in future years. While we are ultimately hoping to incorporate this dataset into a formal database, we wanted to make the information available immediately so that current applicants could access it. We hope that this is a useful resource for students interested in pursuing global surgery during residency, and please feel free to reach out to us with any feedback!
